Gingham

Over at The 12 Months of Christmas Link Up it is the Merry Maidens turn to showcase some fabulous Christmas cards.

The optional Twist for this challenge is "Gingham" inspired by the prize paper pack on offer for the winner Gingham 1 designed by Decosse's Dynamite Doodles.

For my card I have used Rudolph image 485. This is a beautifully elegant reindeer suitable for any Christmas card.

I have coloured Rudolph with Promarkers & Flexmarkers and added some texture with a blender pen to create a mottled effect in the hide as you would see on a real deer. I also added some white gel pen to the antlers.

As I don't have access to a colour printer at the moment I have scanned in the image and used it to make a digital card.

I use a program called Affinity Designer on the Mac and created a square card. The base layer is This Way Sign paper from Welcome to The North Pole by Decosse's Dynamite Doodles.

The image has been matted onto a layer of plain red and then plain brown. The gingham is Light Salmon from Gingham 1.

The sentiment is from Holiday Hoopla Word Art from Decosse's Dynamite Doodles. 

I just loved the Santa hat and felt it would suit going to the North Pole, after all that is where Santa lives.
