Cool Dude

This is the birthday card I made for my super cool snowboarding brother in law.
For both his and my sister’s 45th birthday they went on holiday. My sister learnt to ski last year which was a long time ambition of hers and they went on holiday together in January for the first time without any kids and had a fabulous time.
This was the first digital image I have coloured in my new craft room which was pretty exciting :) The image is from Meljen’s Designs and the Cool Dude sentiment from Pollycraft, both of whom have now closed down.
I knew exactly what image I wanted to use so started with my patterned paper from Basic Grey and that dictated my colour palette. I added the ribbon for a bright pop of colour and the Happy Birthday sentiment has been recycled from a shop brought card. Photography on this was not the best as the metallic finish on the wording picked up the light source no matter which direction it was turned.

Materials Used in this Project are as follows:-
Card size – A5
Image – Cool Snowboarder by Meljen’s Designs (closed)
Paper – Basic Grey
Sentiment – Cool Dude by Pollycraft Digital Stamps (closed)
Embellishments – Self adhesive Docrafts ribbon

Happy Valentines Day

I have been a very bad blogger !

I have been struggling for time a lot over the last year or so as I am now virtually full time which has definitely had an impact on my hobbies and pastimes.

Although I have not been the most prolific card maker in that time I am loving being in my new creative space.

I have room to play, and my stash is organised in such a way that I can very quickly find whatever I need.

I have made a pact that I will not buy any new stash (especially not paper). I am limiting myself, trying to only use what I have with the exception of the odd magazine with a great freebie. Even then I am questioning whether it is something I will really use....

It looks like many of the change blogs that I used to follow and participate in have closed. Also many of the digital artists that I have stamps for have close down which is sad to see.

Anyhoo, this is the Valentine's card I made for my hubby. We have been together for 30 years in July and our love grows deeper every year. I am lucky that he is very romantic and tells me he loves me all the time.

The heart background panel and sentiment are both from a Kanban card sheet, part of a kit that I had from QVC a million years ago.

The image is Emo Heart from Just Some Lines who seem to have closed now as I cannot find their site anymore.
