Snowglobe Shaker

Over at The 12 Months of Christmas Link Up it is the midway point of our challenge. That means it is the turn of the Merry Maidens to share some more fabulous Christmas cards.

The challenge theme is any Christmas Card or other December holiday. The lucky winner's prize is any 2 Winter or Christmas paper packs from Decosse's Dynamite Doodles

If you link up 2 or more cards to our challenge you will get the free Snowflake & Bokeh digital paper sent to you that our intrepid leader Lisa of Decosse's Dynamite Doodles has designed.

This card features 2 of my favourite Christmas subjects Snowmen and snowflakes.

The background paper is from the Welcome to the North Pole. This has been sized to 5.5" square to suit a 6" card base. It has been printed on glossy photo paper.

The snowman inside the snowglobe is a pre-coloured Doodle from Under The Tree. I am fortunate to be on the Creative Team for Kate Hadfield Designs and have access to so many fabulous images. They are a perfect compliment to Lisa's papers too.

Kate's Doodles are available pre-coloured and as digital stamp packs so perfect for many applications such as scrapbooking, journalling, card making and also a lot of teachers use them.

I had already printed the image and added some glitter glue to the snowflakes in the background. I was given some Sizzix goodies and amongst them was some shaker domes. By some complete fluke the circles were the exact size I needed to fit the dome. I added some seed beads with a white and silver core. I die cut a circle in the blue card I had used to mat the paper to cover where the edges of the dome stick to the image. The final touch was then to add a silver peel off sticker.

It was going to be a lovely card to start off with but the shaker section makes it so much more special. I must admit I can't stop playing with it

I do hope you will take part in our challenge and look forward to seeing your creations.

Happy 70th Birthday

It is time for another challenge over at The Paper Funday.
Our challenges are always Anything Goes with an optional twist.
The twist this time is the theme 'A Day At The Beach'

We are very fortunate to have 2 sponsors for each challenge this year which means we get to choose which artist we would like to work with. This really is great as it gives us double the choice. We are very lucky with the amazing sponsors that are lined up this year, many of which are old favourites and some are new to me.

We are sponsored this month by Alex Syberia Designs & Mirtillamente, both of which I have not used before.

For this challenge I chose to work with a gorgeous image from Alex Syberia Designs.

Grateful Heart A2 Card Panel was the perfect image to use to make a card for the lady across the road. Her husband went into hospital before Christmas 2020 and she lost him to Covid early last year. She lives with her son who has become a recluse and it is as if she is on her own. It is so very sad as she has very few family left now. When she mentioned a while ago it was it was her 70th birthday this year I just knew I wanted to make a special card for her.

This card is UK A5 in size so I made the panel as large as I could to fill the base, allowing space to mat it with gold and white card. The image was so crisp and clear so definitely not restricted to A2 size only.

It has been coloured with a combination of Promarkers, Spectrum Noir markers and Arteza Expert pencils for shading. I added gold Stickles glitter glue for a bit of sparkle.

The image was matted onto gold cardstock and white. I then added some old sparkly ribbon and made a tag with a sentiment added to a scrap of magenta card and embellished with a gold brad.

I hope you will join myself and our fabulous Team over at the Paper Funday Challenge.

Funny Sunflower

After a 6 month break I am back creating for The Outlawz Progressive Freebie Challenge.

The Ning group has closed and all the challenges will be moving to a new blog that is being set up at present. The Progressive freebie is being hosted on the Facebook group this month. If you have previously taken part in the last month's challenge you will be automatically sent the following month's image. If however you have not taken part before you can head to the group, request the image and take part.

This month we have been given the super cute image Funny Sunflower from

The pack includes a pre-coloured image and the black line are to colour yourself. I of course opted to colour it myself with Promarkers and added some pencil shading.

I created a base layer by adding a sentiment from Desert Diva to the background. I then copied the main flower head and the central face to create 2 more layers to decoupage the image and raised on foam pads.

The base card has a layer of textured paper inked around the edges. The glitter border and glittered sunflower are from DCWV.

I added some bee, ladybird & dragonfly stickers to embellish the background and add a few more little friends. This image really makes me smile so I think the sentiment is just perfect.
