Beccy's Place runs a month of Holiday Cards challenge throughout November. Most days are a prompt with the letter of the alphabet but as there are only 26 then we get a random prompt too.
The prompt for Day 13 is the letter L - My Card is Love
Now I would usually make Christmas cards but this challenge is for any holiday card so I thought for a change I would make my Valentine's card for my hubby. I will probably totally forget next year I have made it though LOL.
I am very proud of myself with this card as the majority of it is made with elements recycled from other cards.
The base card is covered with the heart patterned background which was the inside of a birthday card I had received....obviously not going to throw that way was I? The black paper is an old wrapping paper from Paperchase. The hearts are flocked so it feels really tactile.
The bear image and sentiment are also recycled. A bit of fussy cutting around the bears, gold metallic card under the sentiment and some 3d foam pads makes it look more than just recycled bits and bobs.
Finally I added some gold peel off lettering I have had for a million years. Old stuff and techniques seem to getting more popular so they have probably come back into fashion now.
Card Details -
Size - 6” Square
Image - Recycled from an old card
Paper - Recycled & Paperchase
Embellishments - Gold Peel off Stickers
I would like to enter this card into the following challenges (in Alphabetical Order)
Beccy’s Place Challenges - Month of Holiday Cards Day 13 - L is for Love
It's always nice to see cards for different holidays thrown into the mix Mandy! Your Valentine creation is adorable, and I like that so much of it is recycled.
