Happy Mother's Day

This is the card I have made for my Mother in Law as today is Mother’s Day in the UK.
I was a bit close to the wire as I finished it this morning !

I started with a Sizzix Framelits die cut Blossom Frames.

This is what it looks like when you have cut it. I bought it in the sale on the Sizzix site as I thought would look pretty if it was layered and decorated with a bit of bling.

I cut it from strong card and used my Promarkers and Flexmarkers to colour them in. If I am being honest I totally underestimated how long it would take to colour and create the different layers.

I added Stickles glue to some flowers, gems, pears and the big flower centres are from a decorative trim that was in the bridal section of the Range.

The sentiment is Female Occasions Sizzix Thinlits die set. The leaves are from a Funky Floral #2 set and the butterfly is a 3 part die from the Die and stamp combo Let’s Celebrate. I love how ornate it is and it cut perfectly.

The card layout was inspired by the current sketch at Sweet Sketch Wednesday which I rotated to fit the oval frame.

Both the papers are handmade mulberry paper which have got floral inclusions in them which was inspired by a challenge at Outlawz group. I am sure there are many crafters who have had some in our stash for years and not used it for a long while….

Materials Used in this Project are as follows:-
Card size – 8 x 8”
Paper – Handmade Mulberry paper
Sentiment – Female Occasions die set Sizzix
Tools Promarkers & Flexmarkers, Sizzlits Let’s Celebrate dies, Sizzix Framelits Blossom Frame, Funky Floral #2
Techniques – Die cutting
Embellishments - Stickles glitter glue, pearls, gems, hearts, trim from The Range

A Visit from the Easter Bunny

This card has been made for the progressive freebie challenge at The Outlawz. The main egg image was created by Sandra Van Blaricum. It has been coloured with Promarkers & Flexmarkers.

I used a sketch from Sketch Saturday for the layout. The card black was covered with easter themed paper from DCWV. The bunny image is from Delicious Doodles and the sentiment is from Scrap N Fonts. The egg in the bottom corner is a cardstock element from my stash. This was matted onto yellow card and edged with an orange Promarker. The image and sentiment are matted onto offcuts of card from my scraps drawer.

Christening Bookatrix Card

This is the card I made to celebrate the christening of the daughter of our best friends. I used my bookatrix board to make a bible style card layering card and papers to create the design. The silver paper for both the card and the matching box is from my stash. I added heart crystals from the bridal section of The Range. I edged the ‘pages’ of the Bookatrix with peel off stickers and added ribbon as the centre spine of the book.

The Christening sentiments are from Kanban. Her Mum was having a Peter Rabbit theme so I incorporated a Beatrix Potter embellishments into my design.

Materials Used in this Project are as follows:-
Card size – A5
Image – Peter Rabbit Beatrix Potter
Sentiment – Kanban
Tools – Bookatrix Embossing Board
Embellishments – Peel off Stickers, Crystal hearts, ribbon

Three Puppies

This is the birthday card I have made for my nephew Mikey.
He has 3 lovely dogs and this image was perfect for him.

I used a cute digi called Three Puppies from Birdie Brown whose Etsy store closed down. She does however design rubber stamps for My Favourite Things now so I am glad to see the is still super creative.  I already had it coloured some time ago using my beloved Promarkers. It is layered on brown marbled paper from my scraps drawers.

I used the latest sketch 212 from Feeling Sketchy for the layout.

The checked backing paper is actually recycled from the inside of an old greetings card. I am very fortunate that a good friend of the family saves hers for me and I cut them up and re-use some of the images and elements. They can be a great resource.

I added some ribbon from my stash and some gold peel off stickers rot embellish the corners. Finally the sentiment banner I am pretty sure was an old digi from Happileigh Scrappin’ from my days when I used to be on the DT

Materials Used in this Project are as follows:-
Card size – 7” x 5”
Images – Three Puppies from Birdie Brown
Paper – brown marble offcut & recycled card
Sentiment – Happileigh Scrappin’
Embellishments - Ribbon & peel off stickers

The Boss's Birthday Card

This is the card I have made for the boss’s birthday.
I have to be honest and say I struggle with men’s birthday cards so the year I am trying to push myself to do more male cards.
This card has been made using the very 1st rubber stamp I bought from Docrafts many many moons ago. It was heat embossed with gold embossing powder and coloured with Promarkers. I have to say I had my Promarkers in storage and unused for nearly 4 years  and not one of them dried up in that time. I was very impressed as I have the whole collection and it would have been very expensive to replace them.
The paper is from a Hunky Dory magazine . I just loved the firework effect and it matches the dynamic character of my employer. The paper was edged with a purple Promarker and I also made a border around the card with it to add a bit more definition.

The layout of the card was designed from this weeks sketch #155 at Sweet Sketch Wednesday . I have added offcuts of silver card and the glittered card is from DCWV. I have a set of rainbow coloured drawers from Costco and my scrap papers are only allowed to fill the top 2 drawers. I go to those before cutting into any other paper. When I had a clearcut before boxing up to move I was super embarrassed about how many offcuts I had amassed. I gave a good few boxes of supplies to a friend of mine that runs a craft club for senior citizens so nothing went to waste.

I am however determined not to fill my new craft space with crap and actually USE my supplies. I am sure we have all seen the meme about collecting craft supplies and actually using them being 2 separate hobbies......
As a finishing touch I embellished with some chipboard letters and star gems

Materials Used in this Project are as follows:-
Card size – 6” square
Images – rubber stamp from Docrafts
Paper – Hunky Dory
Sentiment – Chipboard letters
Techniques – Rubber stamping, Heat embossing
Embellishments - Star gems
