Recently I was a featured creator at Scrapping4fun Challenges with the birthday card I made for my Mother in Law.

I was asked if I would like to be a guest designer for the new challenge 192 which starts today. Of course I jumped at the chance.

The theme for this challenge is Pastel Colours with Flowers

We were chatting to our next door neighbour who mentioned that his daughter is moving out soon and buying her first home with her boyfriend. The weird thing is that I had already printed out this image and sentiment to make a new home card using the Facebook Progressive Freebie Challenge set Tweet from Stamper’s Delights.

Now I don't often make cards using pastel colours but I recently won a lovely paper pad from Crafty Hazelnut's Patterned Paper challenge and it is all subtle florals which I thought would be perfect.

613 Avenue Create has a challenge using a mood board and the colours of pink and green stood out to me so I used those colours plus yellow to match the colours in the paper.

I used Promarkers and pencils to colour and fussy cut around the edges. I mounted on thin foam pads for dimension. The sentiment is an old freebie from The Stamp Fairy.

I used a 6" gold mirror card blank and trimmed the paper a little so a small border of gold shows around the edge to highlight the gold in the paper.

I used some domed glitter dot embellishments for the flower centres and finally added some lovebird puffy stickers which are from Paperchase.

Thank you to Scrapping4fun Challenges for the opportunity to be a Guest DT on this challenge. Head on over there yourself to take part with you pastel coloured floral creations.

Moving House

It is time for another challenge for Team B at Through The Craft Room Door

There is no sponsor this week so we are free to create anything we want. However there is a fabulous prize from the lovely Amanda of some Cityscape rubber stamps. They are really cool and such a great prize for one lucky winner.

I have used this cute little image Moving House from Hetty Clare Art. One of Paul's work colleagues is getting a flat with her boyfriend in a couple of weeks so I will send this to her when she has the keys.

The image has been coloured with Promarkers and a gold gel pen. I have used a brown and blue colour scheme. It is my favourite for cards that you don't want to be too feminine. This was then matted onto dark brown and gold cardstock.

The card blank has been covered with a blue paper with tiny flowers from my stash. I group all my papers by colour and style so don't always know who the manufacturer is.  I used a scrap of home themed paper from Doodlebug Design.

The gold and brown swirly paper is a sheet of handmade wrapping paper from Paperchase. The brown swirl is chenille so it has a lovely texture to it. I often buy sheets of wrapping paper from Paperchase as they have some amazing designs and really luxury textured ones with lots of glitter for around £2. You get the equivalent of 8 sheets of A4 paper from these so it is a really economical way of getting some fabulous papers.

As a finishing touch the New Home sentiment is from my stash and has been attached to the paper with bronze square brads.

Our challenges at Through the Craft Room Door are always Anything Goes so easy to enter. I hope you will join us.
