At Beccy's Place the Month long holiday cards challenge is in full swing and there have been loads of entries already and I was lucky to win a prize for my B card :)
Today I made a card for the letter D which is for Die Cuts and Doodling
This card has been made using a sketch from Kendra's Card Challenge. This is the first time I am taking part in such a project. Every quarter Kendra provides a PDF which has a cutting plan for several cards using 6 sheets of 6"x6" paper. This time there are 17 card sketches for A2 size cards which are slightly smaller than the A6 cards we would normally make as a small card in the UK. This layout is sketch 1
The main part of the card is covered with this lovely Christmas tree paper so needed very little in the way of embellishments. I had a rummage in my tree embellishments and found some corrugated tree die cuts which I thought would work well. I used my circle dies to cut layers of cream and green card and added a bit of doodling with faux stitches around the image.
The sentiment I have had for so many years. I remember buying a pack of 5 of them at a craft show must be at least 10 years ago. The little bit of glitter and metallic shine are more effective in real life but we are at that unfortunate time of year where the lighting fails us and sparkle doesn't show up very well in photos. I added the die cut to the same green card and trimmed around it to make it stand out better against the paper.
As some of you may know I recently had covid and then a cold straight afterwards. I now seem to have another cold and got coldsores too. It feels like my immune system is low and I keep catching things. I have had over a month now of feeling poorly and I want it to go away now please!

I'm sorry you've been so unwell Mandy, covid can certainly take it out of you, and with the other colds on top of it your poor body has had no time to recover. I hope that's it for you as far as virus' go, it sounds like you've had more than your fair share.
ReplyDeleteThe card you created is lovely and you especially nailed that doodling! When I first read that you'd doodled I couldn't figure out where until I read further. You certainly have a steady hand and a precise eye! Love it. The patterned paper is gorgeous too and works very well with all the other elements you added. Great card Mandy!
Cheers,
Beccy
