Monster 2

This is a card I have made using a new freebie set Monsterific Birthday which has being released at Kate Hadfield Designs.

The set has 4 images and they are available in both the digital stamp outline and pre-coloured for really quick and easy cards. There are 3 cute monsters and a superb cake.

This card has been made using the pre-coloured image Monster 2 from the set. I printed this onto glossy photo paper and it really makes the colours pop. I added some googly eyes because they are so much fun and this image is perfect for them.

I selected some papers from my stash in the same colours of orange, pink and aqua and matted all the layers onto orange cardstock. I used some complimentary self adhesive ribbon and added some Card Candi dots.

The sentiment came from Craftwork Cards in a massive box of odds and sods I had years ago. I will probably still be using bits from this till I am 80......

As a final touch I added some little monster stickers I bought in the post office a couple of weeks ago s they are so cute. Monster needed some little friends to help deliver the gift.

Head on over to Kate Hadfield Designs website to download this amazing freebie. You will need to sign up to the newsletter and you will be given access to the Doodle Den where you can download this set and you will get access to even more. It is definitely worth your while paying us a visit.

Kate Hadfield Designs
is also celebrating an anniversary - 12 Years of designing digital doodles. There is a sale on for the next few days to celebrate.

Kit Kite Valentine

Today I am sharing with you the valentine's card I have made for my hubby.

There is a great offer on in the store of 30% off a purchase of 3 items or more so I would encourage you to head on over.

I have used the image Kit Kite Valentine and Heart Digital Papers from Pinksy Doodles. Please visit the Etsy store for an ever expanding range of papers, images and some fabulous SVG cut files that make me wish I had one of those fancy machines......

I used Sketch 492 from Try Stamping on Tuesdays for the layout and roughly designed my card on scrap paper before organising what I wanted to print out.

I printed the heart digital paper onto some glossy photo paper, it really makes the colours pop. I used 2 of the papers so I could add a contrasting strip.

The little kitty has been coloured with Promarkers and I used my Arteza coloured pencils to add some shading. The balloon has been covered with Glossy Accents and I added Glamour Dust glitter to this so it really sparkles. I fussy cut the image and added some sparkly gems to the cushion. This has been popped up on some thin foam squares.

The You Make My Heart Happy die cut sentiment is from Crafter's Companion. You get all the dies needed to create the layout and once I had decided what papers I was using I could cut the hearts out using the matching papers. I added double sided tape onto the back of the black cardstock before cutting the letters out which is so much easier than glueing the letters after they have been cut.

I added a strip of my absolute favourite ribbon to the underside of the pink central panel. I bought quite a big roll of it from Ebay years ago and have used it for so many cards over the years.

The sketch has 3 little dots on the bottom left so I used one of the rubber stamps from the Always & Forever set from Uniko and added some tiny red gems to either side. There seemed too much blank space above the sentiment so I cut a scalloped heart using an old punch from Woodware.

I had lots of scraps of the papers left so I decided to decorate the inside too. The central focus is the sentiment stamp from You Are Sentiments Outlined from Uniko. I had seen reference to this phrase at different times over the years but did not know where it originated. I really like to watch programmes on my Ipad when I am cooking and crafting and I am currently watching Grey's Anatomy and now know it is from this series. My husband is 'My Person' and has been for nearly 32 years so it is perfect for him.

I layered the papers together using Woodware punches to add a little more interest.

I am a full on romantic. I always say I live in a heart shaped world. You know some people see faces in images and everyday scenarios well I see hearts in all sorts of patterns and I truly believe that is because I have been in love with my husband for so many years. I know I am extremely lucky, he truly makes my heart happy just like it says on the front of this card.

I wish everyone who visits my blog lots of love and happiness and hope you are as happy as I am.

Floral Heart Birthday

I recently took part in a Win It Wednesday giveaway over on the Uniko blog and the prize was 3 sets of Love themed stamps. One of my absolute crafting heroes Hannelie Bester from Desert Diva is a brand ambassador for them and had made some really lovely cards with them. I very rarely take part in those kind of giveaways but I am really glad I did as I only went and won! Just look at the beautiful Happy Mail I received yesterday and a lovely little note from Bev ☺

The set I have used today is Always and Forever. I really liked the heart with the flower in as I knew I had the perfect paper to go with it. Now I am not the best of stampers so was a little nervous of the solid background not stamping but my Tim Holtz stamping platform came through once again. I have to say that it has improved my stamping abilities no end and I get much better results than ever before so may crack open my stamps more now instead of using so many digistamps. Now I can use both!

Uniko is celebrating their 9th Birthday which is no mean feat especially with how the pandemic has affected businesses over the last year.

Imagine That Digistamp is also celebrating a birthday and has been going for 8 years now. I used to be on her design team back in the early days and she has always created some of the nicest images and papers. Over the years many digistamp artists have come and gone but I am very happy that Kris is still creating and it is a testament to her great designs and talent.

In honour of the special birthday challenges both are running I have created a birthday card combining the prompt of ribbon or bows and a birthday card.

The card blank has been covered using a speciality paper from a really old DCWV pad Bella Boutique. The cream background is flocked and then the floral design is added on top and that is also flocked. I love the texture of it but it's one of those papers that is really too nice to actually use.... I am sure you all have something like that in your stash.

The ribbon is velvet with the pattern printed on top. It has very fine glitter in the pattern and adds a little bit of sparkle.

I stamped the heart onto cream card using a Versafine ink pad. This was cut into a circle and I used a small ink pad to soften the edge. I then used a scallop edge circle die to create a mat from black pearlescent card.

The sentiment has been recycled from an old birthday card and then matted onto a scrap of the black. Finally I added a bit more twinkle with a couple of self adhesive gems.

Love Is In The Air

It is time for another challenge over at The Paper Funday.
Our challenges are always Anything Goes with an optional twist.
The twist this time is to use a LOVE theme on your project.

We are very fortunate to have 2 sponsors for each challenge this year which means we get to choose which artist we would like to work with. This really is great as it gives us double the choice. We are very lucky with the amazing sponsors that are lined up this year, many of which are old favourites and some are new to me.

I chose to work with an image from Hetty Clare Art called With Love. Who doesn't love a little sausage dog? Before printing I added a freebie sentiment from Ginger's House. No new ones have been added since 2017 but you can still get this as well as many hundreds of others and they are all free. I would definitely recommend you popping over there if you haven't used these sentiments before.

The image has been coloured using Promarkers and a glitter gel pen for the hearts on his little doggie coat. The balloons have been coloured and then added some red Stickles glitter glue. I have embedded some seed beads in red, pink, white and clear to add some texture and detail.

I used Stella Says Sketch 903 layout from Catch The Bug. The card base has been made using an A4 sheet of black card. I added a strip of heart patterned paper leaving the right hand side unstuck for the time being.

I cut some hearts out using an old set of Sizzlits dies Funky Hearts and placed these underneath the paper strip. The image has been matted onto a Heart Squares Nestability die and I raised this up on thin foam squares. I cut a circle from a scrap of card, added a red holographic heart sticker and a border of white gel pen faux stitches.

I made an embellishment for the bottom sentiment using some alphabet beads and red seed beads threaded onto some thin wire. I poked 2 holes in the card base and threaded them through, twisting to secure them and tighten the wire. This is covered with tape and the card insert.

I hope you will join myself and our fabulous team over at The Paper Funday Challenge.

Piggy Back

Well where did January disappear to? We are in quite a strict lockdown in the UK so everything seems a bit samey. January was mainly full of rain but we had a weekend of snow which provided a change of scenery for a short time. It felt a bit like a holiday and a welcome distraction. The month flew by though!

It is the start of a new month and I am back with my DT hat on for

As long as you made a card with the January freebie you will automatically get the February image free. It is a fabulous way to use images from artists you many not have used before. Also sometimes the image is completely different to something you would normally use. It has been a good way for me to stretch my creativity and take me out of my comfort zone.

I would highly recommend anyone who is not already taking part to jump in and have a go. We are a really friendly bunch at The Outlawz.

This month we are sponsored by All Dressed Up

We have been given this super cute image Piggy Back to play with this month. I have coloured my image with a combination of Promarkers, Spectrum Noir Triblend, Spectrum Noir glitter markers and Arteza coloured pencils. Through practice I am getting better at shading with them and learning to be a bit more subtle.

I saw straight away that this was a lovely image to use to send a hug in an envelope and chose my sentiment to suit.

I used sketch 199 from Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2 for the layout and rotated it.

I used a sheet of Lidl card and made a 6" square card base. To this I added some patterned paper in shades of blue to compliment my image. The striped panel and dark blue are offcuts.

I cut the image into an oval shape and added a mat in the same card as the base. I have used a wide blue ribbon with a gold trim and added a narrower blue one to create a striped effect.

The sentiment is from the now retired Jenn & Friends set from Imagine That Digistamp. I matted this onto the blue card and added an epoxy heart sticker.

Following the sketch to balance this I cut the same size circle in white card, added a faux stitched border with an ultra fine Sharpie and matted onto the blue card. I have added a fabric puffy heart I have had for a million years and another epoxy sticker. Finally I added a third epoxy sticker above the image to match the sketch.

I have a good friend who's Mum has Alzheimers and is in a home. She broke her hip falling out of bed and has contracted Covid whilst in hospital and now been told she needs specialist care so needs to sort out a new place for her. What with working from home and homeschooling her little girl the last few weeks have been awful for her. I hope this card will give her the hug I cannot physically give her myself.

I hope we will see you enter our challenge at The Outlawz and look forward to seeing the entries using this image.

From Our House To Your House

Stamper's Delights run a progressive freebie challenge on the Facebook Group. If you take part there is a free digi pack that you can get the following month. I really like Janice's images and have quite a collection so lucky to have many to choose from.

I chose Xmas Scene to make this card. I did really well making Christmas cards all through last year and will be doing the same this year to. Creating with glitter and twinkle for me is the best antidote to these crazy times and Christmas cards scream twinkle to me ☺

The image has been printed out quite large as I wanted to make it into an 8" square card. I have coloured it mainly with Arteza pencils. My sister got them for my birthday in September and this is the largest image I have done to date with them. I'm not very subtle with my colouring yet but this is definitely better with shading. I have also used Promarkers for solid colouring and my Spectrum Noir Glitter Markers for lots of sparkle.

The sky has been coloured using watered down glitter markers but they have very few colours at the moment. In a flash of inspiration I remembered I have a load of Twinkling H20's (remember them?). This added extra shading to the sky and also a shimmering background to the snowy ground.

I added Stickles glitter glue to the piles of snow and some silver peel off snowflakes falling from the sky. The image has been matted onto some dark blue card.

The card front has been covered using a patterned paper that was a magazine freebie from Kanban. I used one of the sentiments from the digi pack and cut a mount from blue cardstock using the Grace Frame die from Crafter's Companion. This is actually one of the very first dies I ever bought......oh dear what did that start eh?

I added some large snowflakes cut from scraps of holographic card using a Create a Flake die from Spellbinders and added some large blue gems in the centres.

We have actually had quite a bit of snow this morning. It was lovely to go for a walk in a park further down the street, see the beautiful trees in the woods laden with snow and seeing so many little children out playing in it. I managed to build a little snowman too. I couldn't find any stones in the woods so it has holly leaves for fluttering eyelashes LOL. I sat it on a bench and one of our neighbours said she saw it and it made her smile
