Valentine's Card

I am a total romantic and LOVE Valentine's Day.

This card was made for my Guest DT position at Outlawz Sunday Songs & Rhymes for the 26th January challenge.  I didn't want to blog it until today as my hubby could have seen it on my blog.
I have used a sheet of black A4 card as the base and covered it with a heart design printed and embossed mirror card from Kanban which I have had for a zillion years.

The dies are both from The Works from the haul I got on holiday in Penzance.

The heart is cut from black card. IT cuts out lots of heart shapes. I matted this onto a piece of red card so you could see the red come through the apertures. I then pieced back in some of the smaller hearts and coloured some in with a gold gel pen.

The Love sentiment was cut from a black glitter card. The hearts were cut a second time in red card and I added glossy accents to it.

I gave this to my husband this morning and he loved it (as well as the limited edition bottle of Red Velvet Cupcake Baileys)

Happy Birthday Balloons

I recently bought a set of dies from Hochanda designed by Julie Hickey. I had seen so many great examples of men's cards she had made and I just knew it would help me make cards for men as I am not all that good at them.

I used the rectangle die to cut frame from metallic card that I have had for a million years. This has been matted onto some holographic card.

I covered a card black with a balloon paper from Dovecraft. The balloons have been diecut from probably the most used die in my collection. I have added glitter and glossy accents and popped up on 3D foam. The gifts are cardstock stickers from my stash attached to the balloons with some metallic string.

The happy sentiments is a Docrafts sticker mounted onto scraps of black and holographic card. The birthday word has been cut using the co-ordinating die from JHD

An Old Fashioned Christmas

I am absolutely delighted to be a Merry Maiden on the Design Team of

Lisa from Decosse's Dynamite Doodles is one of the kindest ladies I know in blogland and a very talented designer to boot.

Christmas Cards are the thing I most like to make as it is the perfect excuse to use sparkle and glitter.

At this present time I do not have a colour printer and so to be able to use the digital papers I will be making my cards as a digital creation.

For this challenge we are being sponsored by Lunagirl who has a great selection of vintage digital images. Karen very generously gave us the opportunity to use a collage sheet of our choosing to work with.

The papers the DT are using for this challenge are An Old Fashioned Christmas. All our challenges are Anything Christmas goes. This will be the prize for the winning entrant who also follows the optional twist of featuring a Vintage item.

For the layout of my card I used a sketch 175 from Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2

The card is made of lots of layers and features papers & elements that I have collected over the years from various designers and sentiments from Word Art World & Desert Diva

I do hope you will take part in our challenge and look forward to seeing your creations.

Chibi Flowerpot Peeker

The January image for the Outlawz progressive freebie is Chibi Flowerpot Peeker from Bugaboo Stamps.

I used the latest Stella Says Sketch 801 from the Catch the Bug challenge for the layout.

The image has been coloured using Promarkers & Flexmarkers. I fussy cut around the image and mounted onto 3d foam squares.

Following the sketch layout I have added a central panel using a glittered paper from the Penny Lane pad by My Mind's Eye. The floral paper on the sides has been recycled from the inside of a birthday card and I covered the join with self adhesive ribbon from Docrafts.

I have made this for a special little girl who is 2 today so added a sentiment and a 2 peel off sticker to the plantpot.

Daisy

The progressive freebie image for December at The Outlawz was Daisy from LeAnne's World 101.

I coloured the image using Promarkers, Flexmarkers and gel pens. I added loads of loose glitter to the white gel pen on the hat and dress fur trim.

The papers are from a great pad that I got from The Works. It was only £3 for a 12x12 pad and has lots of small prints perfect for cardmaking.

The candy cane die cut is from a Gingerbread House die set from Tattered Lace. I cut it from white, red and green cardstock, pieced it together and added some loose red glitter.

My Old Blog

My old blog Made By Mandy was active from 2007 to 2014.

During that time I was on many Design Teams and was fortunate to be a challenge winner on many occasions.

2014-2015 I was the Sponsorship Co-Ordinator at One Stitch at a Time which took me away from making cards. This drew on my administrative skills in the real world and gave me a much broader appreciation of the hard work that goes on behind the scenes with Design Teams & challenges.

We had lived in our old house for 16 years and I needed to pack up my very very cramped craft room in preparation for the move. My boxes were in storage for 2 1/2 years whilst we were having work done to build an extension and now I have the craft room I have always dreamed of.

Unfortunately my old blog was unused in this time and Google archived it.
