Boxed Snowman

The prompt for Day 19 at Beccy's Place Month long holiday challenge is the letter Q. I have used Q for Quarters as the background of my card is in 4 panels.

The image used is another freebie Boxed Snowman from Beccy's Place. I have coloured with Promarkers and highlighted with gel pens. This image is added to a panel of blue card which has had the edges rounded off with a corner punch.

The card layouts is using Sketch 1 from Sweet Sketch Wednesday 2

With the exception of the dark blue paper all patterned papers have been recycled from old Christmas cards I have received and are from my Christmas scraps box. I love to start with an image I have coloured and try where possible to use a sketch and pick my papers to go with it. My first port of call is scraps. When I moved house a few years ago I had to box up all my craft stuff to put the house on the market and had so many scraps I was determined to never let that build up in the same way and to actually USE them. So far this new approach is working.

I have used a clear glitter brush marker from Spectrum Noir on the snowman and bauble. It does not show very well on the photo as quite subtle but really twinkles in real life. This frostiness is very apt as in Birmingham this morning we have woken up to a very frosty start, -1C. Winter is definitely on it's way...

The final thing added to the card is some metallic self adhesive embellishments.

  1. -1C!!! And that's the pre-arrival of winter? Oh my goodness, it if got to negative 1 here I think they'd close the schools and send out the national guard! Wow... I hope you manage to stay warm Mandy! At least you can stay inside and make cards... there's no way I'd be going outside.
Love the idea of "quarters" for your "Q" card, that's a great idea! Fabulous choice of colours too. It's good that you are using up your offcuts and scraps, I tend to accumulate a lot as well, but fortunately for me, my Mum is also a card maker and loves to work with all the excess offcuts I can't keep up with.
    Cheers,
    Beccy

  2. What a good interpretation of the sketch and great coloring of your snowman and that added gel pen on the ornament really gives it dimension and looked like you may have put liquid glass on it, the added bling in the corners has also met our requirement "Bring on the Glitz" and would love you to share it with us at Double Trouble too, we are teamed up with Cupcake Inspirations and you can find our link on their post.
