Kit Kite Valentine with a Christmas Twist

Allsorts challenge this week is sponsored by Pinksy Doodles with a theme of Cute Christmas.

I decided to use a non-Christmas image to show how versatile digital images can be with a little imagination.

Kit Kite Valentine has this cute little kitty sitting on a cushion with a heart balloon. For only £1.49 you too can give this delightful little kitty a home.

I printed out just the kitty part of the image and coloured it with Promarkers. With a little precision snipping with my newly sharpened blades on my Fiskars scissors kitty was cut out (even the little whiskers) and he wears a beaded santa hat that has been in my stash for a million years (alright exaggeration but definitely more than 10 years)

The main card base has been covered with some super glittery gold paper. To this I have added a really rich tartan paper from a recent purchase at The Works (amazing value for only £3 for a 12"x12" pad). My Mum used to dress me and my younger sister in matching pleated tartan skirts at Christmas and this really reminded me of that as it was a very similar pattern with the red and green colours.

The die cut tree is a recent acquisition too courtesy of birthday pennies to spend from family. This is a bit of a record for me as it only arrived on Tuesday and I have used it already. Yay !!! It is the Contemporary Tree die from Crafter's Companion. I was REALLY lucky as it was only £6 when I bought it and has gone back upto £12.99 SWEET!

I die cut it with my new Gemini die cutting machine (thankyou wonderful husband) I am so very impressed with how crisp and clean it cuts super intricate dies. It's a massive improvement on my Big Shot.

I initially cut it in gold glittery card but as it is so fine it got lost on the background. I also cut it from a scrap of green card. The die cut is so fine I decided to mat it onto some more of the gold glittery paper. I have added loads of gems to decorate the tree. The sparkly star topper is a very old one from my stash which was sold as a sticky tattoo from the pound shop.

The little kitty has been popped up on 3d foam pads and gem buttons have been added to bling the cushion up. The holly corners are fabric stickers from The Works. The sentiment is fro Craftwork Cards and I matted this onto a scrap of gold card. Finally the parcel is a 3d sticker from a really old kit I had from QVC
