Mini Miss Superstar

 

 This should have been my 2nd card as a Guest Designer at The Paper Funday. 

However I am delighted to announce that they have asked me to stay on the team permanently and I have accepted. 

It is a great team, so friendly and supportive and I am so pleased they asked me to stay.

So this month we are sponsored by Hetty Clare Art. I have used a few of her designs in the past and they are really well drawn, great expressions and such a diverse range of images. 

The challenge this month is Anything Goes and the optional twist is Halloween. 

I have used this cute image Mini Miss Superstar. Don't you just love how sassy this little madam is? I can't imagine ever being as confident as this young lady.

I have coloured the image in with Promarkers. I decided to use a limited colour palette of pink & black as I knew I wanted to use lots of glitter on the background stars. I actually chose the bright pink glitter before anything else! I fussy cut around the image and it is mounted on foam squares.

I used a card sketch from Try Stamping on Tuesdays for the layout. I thought the bold design would match well with the image.

The base is made from a sheet of black A4 card. I have added some pink star patterned paper which is from a very, very old Papermania Pastel Colossal pack. This is from the days when I was making loads of commission cards for work colleagues and put the money straight back into cardmaking supplies. I went through a phase of buying so many paper pads it was ridiculous really......

I used some black card with metallic stars for the image background and cut into the pennant shape. I added contrasts of bright pink which is a textured cardstock and then a strip of black glitter cardstock.

Finally I added a Super Star sentiment ticket which is a free stamp from My Creative Side blog. Autumn has not blogged for a long time but this is still available as a freebie to download here.

I have the perfect recipient in mind for this card. The elder daughter of our neighbours has just had her previously very long hair cut into a bob and it has been donated to the Little Princess Trust as her cousin is suffering with childhood cancer. Cancer is such a cruel thing but in children...... it really doesn't bear thinking about.
