Christmas Gift

At Kate Hadfield Designs there are so many fabulous sets it is really easy to get inspired to use them. There are digital stamps which you can colour, coloured versions you can scrapbook or make into digital layouts. Papers, patterned overlays and doodles galore. No matter what your skill level there are so many goodies to play with.

One of the most fabulous things about being in this Creative Team is that we have free rein to make anything we want to using the sets in the shop. This is amazing for inspiring creativity as there are so many amazing packs to play with. I feel very, very lucky to be able to have this opportunity.

This card has been made using the Jingle All The Way set of Doodles. There are loads of traditional Christmas images that are perfect for your festive projects.

This card has been made using a sketch from Kendra's Card Challenge. This is the first time I am taking part in such a project. Every quarter Kendra provides a PDF which has a cutting plan for several cards using 6 sheets of 6"x6" paper. This time there are 17 card sketches for A2 size cards which are slightly smaller than the A6 cards we would normally make as a small card in the UK. This layout is sketch 12

The papers for the 3 main strips are pre-determined from the cutting plans. However, this resulted in 2 red panels being next to one another so I used artistic license to swap them around. The base of the card was left to choose any paper we liked so I went for this bold diamond pattern.

Day 7 challenge at Beccy's Place calls for a card to be made in complimentary colours. This is colours on opposite sides of the colour wheel and or course red and green was the chosen theme for these cutting plans so that is perfect for this challenge.

I selected Gift 3 from the doodles and printed off with my laser printer. This was fussy cut and added to a scrap of gold sparkly card. The sentiment is a recycled one from an old card also mounted onto some of the gold. These are popped up on thin foam pads and we can call the card done.

Over at Kate Hadfield Designs there is lots going on. Kate is really generous with her freebies which are readily available. If you sign up to the newsletter you get access to an extra subscriber area the Doodle Den where there are loads more freebies. There is a gallery full of projects by the Creative Team and customers and so much inspiration for crafters and teachers. I would highly recommend you pop over there and join in the fun.

  1. Love your complementary card Mandy, the colours are perfect for Christmas! The image you used is fabulous, very handy for other occasions too... really any time you would give a gift. I like how you've added the different strips of paper in the background, the mix of patterns is wonderful.
