Hattori Guest DT

I was very lucky to be the random winner of challenge 51 at LeAnns World 101 Challenge

My prize was 2 images from the store and the opportunity to be a Guest Designer on the new challenge which starts today

I chose to work with Hattori which is a really cool image that I thought would be perfect for a birthday card for one of my twin great nieces. They will be 9 years old towards the end of this month and they have such different personalities. Liara is definitely a tomboy and this will appeal to her.

I wanted to make it quite a bold card so decided to stick to a monotone theme using mostly n
black and different shaded and tones of grey. I started by putting my papers together. The wonky striped background is from a VERY old Papermania pad. The central strip is an offcut from a Ki Memories 12" x 12" sheet of paper I bought years ago. I still have a bit left :)

Having selected the papers I used many of the colours from my vast collection of greys in the Promarkers range. Not quite 50 shades of grey but not far off to be honest.....

I used markers for the background and then pencils for the character. I experimented with the hair, she is a cool character and she obviously would not have a boring hairdo, she needed something a bit edgier.

The digital image is a tag shape so I matted this onto some silver card and then added onto black. The central strip was also layered with black as was the sentiment which was simply created in my computer.

This is a very different image for me to work with and I am super pleased with how the card came out.

Please pop on over to the challenge at LeAnns World 101 Challenge and you could also a lucky winner like me.
