We All Scream For Ice Cream Colour

 

If you are already a subscriber at the Doodle Den at Kate Hadfield Designs you would have had an email on Friday with a free download link to a brand new set of images for We All Scream For Ice Cream as a special treat before it went into the store.

There is a coloured set and also outline stamps. I have made a card with each and this is my first using the coloured ones. My hubby loves a Mr Whippy soft ice cream and the 'cream' topping image looks just like a soft whipped ice cream. I made an ice cream using the short cone, cream and a wafer stick. I isolated 2 of the chunks in the chocolate chunks image and placed these on the swirls.

The background has been made to fit a long slim card (DL). The bottom layer is the dark brown from Painted Pretties. The foreground layer is the beige paper from the same kit.  

On top of this layer I added the diamond pattern from Everyday Overlays. This emulates the pattern in the cone and adds a bit of interest without adding colour. I dropped the opacity to give it a lighter effect. These overlays are so useful for adding pattern to plain papers.

The digital part of the card was assembled in Affinity Designer. It is very easy to create a card front by manipulating the layers, tweaking the sizes and elements as needed. I added the text straight onto the background and printed out the full image on matte photo paper. 

I mounted this onto a dark brown card base. The gold outline is from a roll of stickers that I have had for must be around 15 years from Lakeland Limited when they sold crafty stuff. I have 2 different sets with silver, gold, pink & purple and have used them so much over the years. They will probably outlive me before I use them up.....

Finally I used some glossy accents to add shine to the chocolate pieces. They remind me of chocolate covered raisins (can you tell I am on a diet LOL)
