Christmas in July Blog Hop

Hello Crafty Friends and Happy Saturday!

Today, The Paper Funday Challenges and the Inspiration Station Challenges are hosting a Christmas in July Blog Hop! Please Hop along with us today for some fantastic holiday crafting inspiration and there are Prizes too!

If you were directed here from Kate, you’re in the right place. Should you get lost, please start at The Paper Funday Challenge Blog and work your way through the hop.

Now anyone who knows me knows I love making Christmas cards the best.

This card has been made using a fabulous die set from The Paper Boutique designed by Claina Palmer. It is a large die that really makes a statement on a big card (this is 8" square)

The wreath and sentiment are all part of the set so you can mix and match with other items. I can see the sentiment being used a lot.

I covered the card with some paper from Craft Sensations. I liked the traditional look it gave to it. I used some gold self adhesive stickers I have had for years from Lakeland Limited to add a border to the outer edge.

The matt has been cut using a fine glittery gold card that does not shed. The wreath has been cut from dark green card and I used Studiotac from Letraset to add adhesive to the back. It is such a fine die there is no way I would have been able to stick all this down...... way too much faff! I don't think this is available anymore but I am so glad I have 2 packs in my stash and it is still as good as new.

The sentiment and matt have been cut using scraps of card (I always keep those scraps)

I added lots of small red gems for the berries and a red bow. It takes 80 gems so next time I may use glitter glue, or perhaps a combination of both. These fortunately were inexpensive from the £1 shop so you can afford to use lots of those.

The poinsettias are die cuts from Craftwork Cards and I added big gold gems for the centres.
