Gingerbread Family

 

Kinda Cute by Patricia Alvarez runs a Progressive Freebie challenge on Facebook. If you enter using any of her images then you get a free image the following month. You also get an extra chance to win by linking on Instagram and last month I was the winner and I got to choose 3 images from the store. I am a sucker for a gingerbread man and this cute image Gingerbread Family is different to any in my digi collection. I already know the family I will be giving this to at Christmas.

I wanted to make some thing to incorporate lots of gingerbread things so decided to make a Z fold card so more spaces to decorate.

The image has been coloured with Promarkers. I used a lighter coloured pen to add dots for texture and then added dots of lighter colours in the background of the image. I cut a mat from dark brown paper using a scalloped square die from CREAlies. They are really handy as you get loads of sizes in each set and they die cut so crisp and. clean.

The heart gingerbread cookie paper from First Edition is really glittery with encased glitter. The With Love sentiment is a 2 layered decoupage and I added a scrap of ribbon to embellish it.

The centre panel has a paper that came with a gingerbread themed magazine freebie some years ago. The gingerbread recipe is from the Holiday Gingerbread set from Jan’s Digi Stamps. To embellish I have added my little shrink plastic gingerbread man which was my first ever Sizzix originals die. I was fascinated with how small the shrink plastic shrunk to and made loads a good few years ago. They were coloured with Promarkers before shrinking and I added a scrap of red card to the red hearts.

The final section has a sentiment from the Gingerbread Wishes set by Bugaboo Stamps. Again I matted this onto the same brown paper and die combo as the front panel. The paper is a really old one from a  First Edition pad. The gingerbread figure was from the same freebie set as the middle paper. His little rosy cheeks and buttons have glitter in them.

The final image shows all panels of the finished card which I am very pleased with. I have some mini gingerbread in the cupboard and might have some with a cup of tea....mmmmm
