Mom's Birthday

It's my Mother In Law's birthday on the 13th and this is the card I have made for her.

She absolutely loves Fuchsias so I decided to use this digital image from Beccy's Place. This is a free image on her site and she also includes a colour version.

I coloured the image using a combination of Spectrum Noir and Promarkers. I recently bought a mystery bag from Crafters Companion and there were 2 packs of Spectrum Noir pens in it. Having used Promarkers exclusively for the last few years I was surprised how good these pens were. The pink is really bright and there was no streaking at all. I added gel pens to the stamen.

The image is matted onto pink card. The purple card has been cut with a square die set Layers, Frames & Banners from Julie Hickey Designs.

The base card has been covered with a green paper from Hot Off The Press. Using a Mandala die from Crafter's Companion I cut a lace edged piece pice of card. It is quite a thick card and the die was very intricate but has cut very well.

I added some rich purple ribbon. A sentiment panel from Craftwork Cards has been matted onto scraps of card and mounted on 3d foam. I have added a mixture of flowers from my stash and some gems. Finally a Mum peel off from Docrafts completes the card.
