Mom's Birthday

This is the card I have made for my Mother in Law’s birthday next week.

I have used sketch #492 from Tuesday Morning Sketches for the layout. Originally I had thought to use the 3 shapes to spell Mom but as I was doing a rough mock sketch of what I was going to do it morphed into this card. Funny how that happens sometimes.

The background paper is from my stash. This is an old Docrafts paper pad designed by Clare Curd. The red card has been recycled from the inside of a Christmacard…. far too pretty to throw that away.

The white card has been punched using my favourite Martha Stewart border punch.

The large hearts have been cut using the Fiskars shape cutter templates. I am rubbish at using the actual shapecutter so tend to just use the shapes to draw onto card and then cut out using scissors.

The white hearts have been cut using another Martha Stewart punch. I have cut 3 for each shape and scored them in the centre. Stuck them together and then mounted onto some of the red card. Please see the close up shot below. It really makes the shop pop out on the card.

The happy birthday sentiment I think may be from Craftwork cards. The Mom lettering is rub ons and I added the black dots with a trusty Sharpie marker. Finally the crystal hearts are from the bridal section of The Range.
