Robin & Holly

At Kate Hadfield Designs there are so many fabulous sets it is really easy to get inspired to use them. There are digital stamps which you can colour, coloured versions you can scrapbook or make into digital layouts. Papers, patterned overlays and doodles galore. No matter what your skill level there are so many goodies to play with.

One of the most fabulous things about being in this Creative Team is that we have free rein to make anything we want to using the sets in the shop. This is amazing for inspiring creativity as there are so many amazing packs to play with. I feel very, very lucky to be able to have this opportunity.

For this card I created an ensemble by combining the robin from Very Very Merry with the holly from Winter Flora

The image was matted onto pearlescent red card stock from the Winterberry kit by Crafter's Companion. The lovely patterned paper and bakers twine were also from this kit.

I added an offcut of the metallic gold cardstock used in a previous card.

The holly & berries diamond painting sticker are from the Craft Buddy kit I have used in recent cards.

Finally I added some small gems in the opposite corner to add some balance.

Kate is really generous with her freebies which are readily available. If you sign up to the newsletter you get access to an extra subscriber area the Doodle Den where there are loads more freebies. There is a gallery full of projects by the Creative Team and customers and so much inspiration for crafters and teachers. I would highly recommend you pop over there and join in the fun.

Change Colours Red & Green

At Beccy's Place Month of Holiday Cards challenge for day 8 we have been tasked to make at least 2 cards with the same layout and design but different colours.

I never make 2 cards the same so I was pleased to be able to make them at least a different colour.

I made the ensemble using 3 of the images from the Very Very Merry Stamps pack. This set is also available in pre-coloured Doodles for super easy card making.

This 2nd card I made colouring the images with red & green Triblend Brushmarkers. I added some dots of marker to the background.

I matted the image with thin red card. The base of the card has been covered with a lovely metallic cardstock from Crafter's Companion which has the Merry Christmas sentiment in different fonts. If course being metallic it wasn't the easiest to photograph so apologies for that.

Over at Kate Hadfield Designs there is lots going on. Kate is really generous with her freebies which are readily available. I made the ensemble using 3 of the images from the Very Very Merry Stamps pack. This set is also available in pre-coloured Doodles for super easy card making.

This first card I made colouring the images with blue Triblend Brushmarkers. I added some dots of marker and a paler blue metallic marker to the background.

I matted the image with thin blue card. The base if the card has been covered with a lovely metallic cardstock from Crafter's Companion which has the Merry Christmas sentiment in different fonts. If course being metallic it wasn't the easiest to photograph so apologies for that.

This card has been made using a fabulous free colouring page you can download at the link below.

Kawaii Christmas Colouring Page

This prints out as an A4 sheet but for this card I made it smaller to suit an A5 finished card.

The image has been coloured with alcohol markers with gel pens and sparkle glitter pens for accenting. I made a simple banner from text I had typed, using plain black card to mat both the image and sentiment.

These elements were then mounted onto the card base which is made from an A4 sheet of pearlescent gold cardstock.

Finally I added red gems as baubles on the tree and berries on the Christmas pudding and a green one on the gingerbread man's bow tie.

Jolly Holly Santa

At Kate Hadfield Designs there are so many fabulous sets it is really easy to get inspired to use them. Jolly Holly is one of my favourite Christmas packs that Kate has made. I love the Kawaii style, the bright colours and the cute little faces on the characters.

This jolly santa has been decoupaged so the trousers and boots are in the background and the rest in the foreground. This was fussy cut and popped up on 3D foam pads and then matted onto red card.

The base of the card has been covered with some patterned paper which has metallic green squares on it. These are awful to photograph. The UK is very wet and cold at present. I go to work and come home in the dark so have to rely on artificial light. No matter what lighting I used I either got too much glare from the metallic or too dark so apologise for not being able to show the green very well.

The ribbon was a great find at The Works in their sale bin and is perfect for a santa card. Finally the sentiment was recycled from a shop bought card.

Glittering Gingerbread

Today I have the cutest embossing folder to share with you. It was my birthday recently and my wonderful sister as always asks me what to buy. I never know as I don't really need anything but then Chloe’s Creative Cards brought out this gorgeous embossing folder. It is really large at 8" square and I am a complete sucker for a gingerbread man so I give her a list of things which included many really, really good bargains from their sale.

The large felt gingerbread man is from a decorative banner I got from The Works. It had loads of them on a banner made from string and I thought it would be great for putting on a card. Of course this was purchased last year when I had all these wonderful plans and work got in the way of crafting :(

Anyhoo, the card base is gold card. I used kraft for the embossing and then inked the baby gingerbread with a Distress ink pad. This panel is mounted onto brown paper (no patterned paper use on this card, extremely rare for me!)

Mr Gingerbread man has been given a glow up with the addition of glitter glue in sparkle, red and red/green and some adhesive gems.

Last but not least a sentiment recycled from a shop bought Christmas card matted onto a scrap of gold completes this card.

Decadent Die Cut Snowflakes

This card has been made using a very detailed die Decadent Snowflakes from Crafter's Companion.

This is an A5 card and the panel is quite large. I used some very subtle snowflake paper which is in the corners so this I  felt worked well with the die cut panel. I added some of my Diamond Painting snowflakes to the largest ones and some small self adhesive gems to the centres of the others.

Finally I added a silver snowflake border and sentiment.

I love the blue & white colour combo to create 'icy' Christmas cards.

For this card I had a lot of fun making my own design up using lots of elements from different kits.

The paper was made digitally using just a plain pink paper from Jingle All The Way and adding snowflakes of various sizes from the Calendar Year kit. This snowflake was also added to the mug.

The mug and marshmallows are from We Go Together 3

The cute gingerbread man is from Jolly Holly. I made a small one wallowing in the hot chocolate bath and then another outside the mug. The marshmallows and gingerbread were popped up on foam pads for dimension.

The base of the card and matting layers are brown card and I added a peel off sticker sentiment.
