It's time for the final challenge for 2022 over at The Paper Funday.

Our challenges are alway Anything Goes with an optional twist.

The twist this time is 'Holiday Time'

We are very fortunate to have 2 sponsors for each challenge this year which means we get to choose which artist we would like to work with. This is really great as it gives us double the choice. For this challenge I chose to work with Edible Holidays from Varada Sharma Designs

This is a really great pack with 3 sentiments and 8 images of cookies and sweet treats for Christmas.

This card has been made using a sketch from Kendra's Card Challenge. This is the first time I am taking part in such a project. Every quarter Kendra provides a PDF which has a cutting plan for several cards using 6 sheets of 6"x6" paper. This time there are 17 card sketches for A2 size cards which are slightly smaller than the A6 cards we would normally make as a small card in the UK. This layout is sketch 16

I sized the gingerbread house to suit my card base and added some little star cookies as further decoration. These have been coloured with a combination of Promarkers, Spectrum Noir and some fineline pens for the smaller details. I fussy cut and added to the card raised on thin foam pads.

I used a sentiment from the pack and matted with a scrap of gold card.

Foe embellishments I added some pearls to the dots around the window to emulate the sugar balls you can decorate cookies with. I also added some pale gold gems to the snowflake centres on the red paper.

This is my very last card for day 30 at Beccy's Place Month of Holiday Cards. 

This last prompt is to Do What You Love

I love colouring

I love making Christmas Cards

I love snowmen and snowflakes

I love making cards for specific people

This card has been made for a friend's Mum to give to her Grandson. I was given free reign to design anything male oriented.

I had these cute little snowmen stamps in blocks from Bugaboo Stamps (who I really really miss). I had a play with making a grid style layout so the sentiment could fit inside boxes and then interspersed this with snowmen and some snowflake stickers. This whole design was printed and then coloured with Promarkers and Spectrum Noir glitter markers.

The base of the card is a sparkly blue and I added a self adhesive ribbon to the top and bottom.

I am so chuffed that I managed to make cards for all 30 days of Beccy's challenge. Last year I was only able to make 11 for the challenge. I was working again and just ran out of time. I was really disappointed that 'life got in the way' so was determined to make a better attempt this year.

Beccy leaves comments for every single entry. At this stage there are over 1000 so that is a mammoth task. She gives prizes every day for the comments we leave. Race competitions for the fastest 10 people to post a card and weekly winners. She really is most generous and we participants really look forward to taking part each year.

Santa Hat

 

This is the second card I made for a friend's daughter who is Pansexual. This means that she falls in love with a person irrespective of whether they are male or female.

The smiley face is in the colours of the Pansexual flag so has specific relevance to his daughter. I created the smiley face in my digital program by using the blocks of colour, adding them into a circle then adding ovals for the eyes and a half circle ellipse for the mouth. I was so proud of how I created it.

The main base of the card is a red holographic pattern. I wanted to use the same for his Santa hat. This has been paper pieced using a digital stamp from Kate Hadfield Designs Jingle All The Way set.

Majestic Snowflake

 

I am frantically catching up on my posts for the challenge for Beccy's Place Month of Holiday Cards.

Day 28 the prompt is to make a Clean & Simple design card.

Now I really struggle with CAS. So much white space really gives me the eebie jeebies.

I recently bought this die which is a half snowflake. I have had these square snowflake embossed cards for years and thought it might look quite effective as the background.

The die is very intricate and took ages to remove from the die cut piece. You have to be really careful not to pull it away and break anything off the snowflake. I tried it in white but it looked 'lost' so I changed it to a silver cardstock with a subtle sheen.

To keep it simple I used a silver peel sticker for the sentiment and resisted the urge to add gems to the embossed snowflakes.......

X Stitch Penguin

Day 26 the prompt is the letter X.  X is for X stitch and XXX kisses on the doodle border

My little penguin is a cross stitch kit that came from a magazine freebie a million years ago. It was originally a gift tag but over the years the adhesive had come unstuck so I had put it in my little box of things that needed to be remade.

I frayed the edges and added it onto a scrap of red card. I used a corner punch to round the edges off.

The card base is Forever Friends embossed one that came in a Docrafts Goody Bag. I added some gems to the border and used a was rub-on to the snowflakes

Finally I added lots of gems to the corners and the snowflakes.

Day 24 the prompt is the letter V. Mine is Vintage

This card has been made using a digital image I had printed off in my Christmas odds and sods folder. I have used gold to mat the poinsettia paper and the sentiment which are both from a magazine freebie by Crafter's Companion.

Finally I added some gems to the sentiment and added them to the paper.

Pansexual Trees

 

I am frantically catching up on my posts for the challenge for Beccy's Place Month of Holiday Cards.

Day 23 the prompt is the letter U. Mine is Uniform.....not in a clothing way but uniform as in a straight line and also the trees in a line. Artistic license has been used but there are several definitions of a word so this is my take on it.

This card has been made especially for the pansexual daughter of a friend of ours. He asked me to make cards for him to give to her as well as for his Mum (hence Granddaughter)

I had to do some research but a Pansexual is someones who loves a person irrelevant of gender. The lines on the border are in the colour of the pansexual flag. I created a digital paper by placing lines of each colour in a Uniform repeating design. Then rotating it so it was diagonal. I then added a white rectangle over the top and printed on photo paper.

The trees are a play on the sexual nature of Pansexuals. The small trees are in a darker green and a mid tone green. I used a white gel marker to define the segments.

The larger tree has been pieced by using both colours on the same tree. I liked the idea that a person can love both a man or a woman and the two different colours are a nod to that.

The Nativity

 

I am frantically catching up on my posts for the challenge for Beccy's Place Month of Holiday Cards.

Day 16 the prompt is the letter N. Mine is Nativity and Noel 

The card has been made with a rubber stamp image from a swap years ago on a forum I used to belong to. I have no idea who the designer is but I suspect it could be Penny Black. It was coloured with Twinkling H20's so has a lovely shimmer to it. This was in my little packet of prepared images but not previously made into a card.

The tag was a decoupage one by Margaret Sherry that came in a magazine freebie goodness knows how many years I have had it languishing in my stash.

I found a paper in my stash with a blue backgrounds and stars which I felt tied the elements together. I added gold shimmer card for the matting layer and of star gems for twinkle.

I tend not to use religious iconography as I am agnostic but felt it made a nice Christmas card for a family I know are church goers and will appreciate the thought.
